What is Jupiter?

Jupiter is a Solana app that routes token swaps across many exchanges to find the best price, and staking JUP grants a vote on how the protocol is run.

Jupiter's founder goes by the name meow. JUP was first handed out in an airdrop in January 2024, and of the 10 billion total supply the team burned 3 billion. Half of Jupiter's onchain revenue goes to the Litterbox Trust, which buys back JUP, and a community vote at the end of 2025 burned the JUP that had accumulated there. Team tokens carry a one-year cliff followed by three years of linear vesting.
