Channels (the "Service") handles your personal data with care and complies with applicable law.
We do not collect your contacts or precise location. Your email address is used only to verify your account, answer your enquiries and send essential service notices; we do not use it for advertising or marketing. Market data is received by your device directly from public exchange APIs and never passes through our servers. Translation of posts in other languages runs on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Posts, comments and coin chat room messages you write are public, together with your display name, handle and profile picture — anyone can see them in the app and on the Service's website (channelscrypto.com · channels.co.kr), including visitors who are not signed in, and posts and comments may appear in the results of search engines such as Google. Direct messages and group conversations are not public.
You can delete your posts and comments in the app at any time; they disappear from the app and the website immediately. Deleting your account deletes all of your posts and comments. Copies already stored by a search engine disappear when that search engine recrawls.
Personal data is kept while you use the Service. You can delete your account and data at any time in the app under Settings → Delete account. On deletion, your account data (including your email address) and the links between you and your content are destroyed without undue delay.
To bring a user who installed the app from a shared link back to the screen they wanted to see, we keep a hashed value of the IP address and OS version at the moment the link redirects to the App Store for at most 30 minutes, compare it once on first launch and delete it immediately. The raw IP address is not stored and the value is not used for anything else.
We do not sell personal data. We use Cloudflare, Inc. for hosting and data storage and Apple Inc. (APNs) for push delivery. Third-party processing related to advertising is described in section 4-1.
The Service shows ads through Google AdMob (Google LLC). To serve ads, Google may collect and process the advertising identifier (IDFA — only if you allow tracking in the iOS prompt), an approximate location derived from your IP address, ad impression and click records, and app diagnostics, under Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and advertising policies. Our servers do not store the advertising identifier or location data.
You can turn off personalized ads at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Users in the EEA and UK can change their consent in the app under Settings → Ad privacy. Declining tracking does not change the number of ads or any app feature.
To improve app quality and understand how the Service is used, we use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google LLC). This may send to Google and process app usage records (which screens were opened, which features were used, how long — facts of behavior), error and crash information, device model, OS and app version, app language, an approximate country-level location derived from your IP address, and an app-instance identifier. We attach the Service's internal account identifier, but we never send your name, handle, e-mail, the contents of messages or posts, or search terms. Processing follows Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). For users in the EEA and UK, the consent choice made in the app under Settings → Ad privacy also applies to analytics collection. Deleting your account also sends a request to reset the analytics data on that device.
You can view and edit your data (profile editing) and delete it (account deletion) directly in the app, or contact us at the address below.
The Service is not directed to children under 14 (Republic of Korea) or the age defined by the law of your country, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.
