What is Bedrock?
Bedrock is a service that stakes deposited Bitcoin and Ethereum on the user's behalf, and locking BR grants a vote on which strategies it uses.
Bedrock started as uniETH, a receipt token for staked Ether, and its validator cluster has been running since early 2023. Deposited Ether is staked a second time on EigenLayer, adding restaking rewards on top of staking rewards, and the receipt token does not grow in count but rises in value instead. BR is a BNB Smart Chain token first distributed on 20 March 2025 through Binance Wallet, and locking it gives a vote over which strategies get added and how capital is allocated.
